that i got couple months ago. Jim liked it
so much that he had to take it home to do his
deck out in Turner and Sue, Ryan, Greggy and London
helped we also had a BBQ with Rachel, Jared, McKenzie we had
hamburgers, hotdogs, sausages lets see chips, soda, kool-aide,
salad and lets not forget the cookies all YUM!!

Apple Crisp Recipe

EASY APPLE CRISP

1 c. sugar
2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
6 peeled and sliced large apples
3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
6 t. butter

Combine 1/2 c. sugar, lemon juice, water and cinnamon in bottom of small baking pan. Slice in apples. Blend remaining 1/2 c. sugar, flour, salt and butter until crumbly. Spread over apples and pat smooth. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes, until apples are tender and crust is browned. Serve hot with ice cream. This is a good recipe for apple crisp if you don't like the over-sugary oatmeal taste. It's basically a rectangular apple pie, but healthier (no lard).

John James Allen born Feb 27th 1965 passed away Jun 28th 2009
we were buddies growing up often paired up to go play because my older sisters were living their lives as teenagers do jimmy often played with us. I was the only one in the family that could say I got an older brother and a younger brother and was very proud to be in the middle of the two. we liked to play trucks take things apart put them back together no matter if it worked or not. he one time took a pressure gauge that checked the air in the tires and used it on all 4 tires and let the air out it just fascinated him but when mom found out him and jim had to take the tires off and bring them to the gas station to get them filled he did not mind he wanted to see them get blown up. I will miss those talks at the dialysis unit when he had to go he never minded he was the clown of the unit and he loved the nurses who helped him and made many friends over the years. I will miss my friend my little bother's smile he had a forgiving heart to anyone that did him wrong. I know my mom taught him that for she was that way to. He loved his kids, Corey, Jenn, Jordan, Gage, Emily.

Brianna birthday was June 4th but on June 5th she had an art show of portraits she did of folks she met in Homer Alaska last year and she is going back again in August this year...So here is a slide show of the event held at Arabic Coffee shop...16 Free Street Portland, Maine it will be there June 3rd -28, 2009...Opening Day was today the 5th...
Brianna is wearing (gram-allen's dress) flashback when i walked into the place and saw her wearing it...for her birthday i brought her a lilac bush from the house so she can put it into her garden, jim and rhonda said that she would like that so thats what i did. Nick, rhonda's mom came, so did brianna Mom (carmen) and her boyfriend also got to meet one of Brianna's roomate Justin and saw brianna's grandparents from Brianna's mom side. Brianna sister came isabella she had a banged up sholder but i still got a hug and i got a funny picture of her she banged her shoulder fallen off a teeta totter .... the show ended we drove back to nick's place and ate pizza and then i came home thought i would share the events of the day with family...so once this show ends her pictures will go to another place in portland and stay there for 2 months...check out the slideshow.. enjoy..

Well there is a few things I could do is or maybe not... lets see if i can list 10 things....hhhahaha

1- get up get dressed and go do something - na i'm bored

2- go get my cats (Jake, Billi) some cat food - yea better do this they only got a few crumbs left in the bowl and they will whine if nothing is there...go to Lowe's get some wood for my deck...I took off the railings now i need to replace...

3-go see a movie or wait till tomorrow when X-Men Wolverine starts (YEA) sounds like a plan and yes STAR TREK starts MAY 7th yippy!!!

4-do the dishes - who likes doing dishes not i said me

5-laundry yup gotta do that

6-sign up to a gym cause i haven't done anything on my own but my doctors have told me i have maintained for the last 3 years NOT BAD...and no I am not telling the weight...

7-I could just sit and blog/facebook/AOL/hotmail/yahoo for a few hours HEY! wait i'm doing that right now - lazy butt yes that's me today...

8- just got a call from Alice while doing my list now i gotta go and have some keys made she just had a dead bolt lock installed and she just said she got a new kitchen light and she said WOW i got light...its bright...

9- watered the flowers and walked the dog - that's a good deed...

10- well I'd better start the list cause number 11 will have to wait another day cause i don't want to over extend myself yea the sleepy mode is kicking in maybe i'll take a nap and rethink the list...yea that's a good plan...see the picture yea good plan...

My New Ring....

Well here it is a picture of my new ring........ "bling, bling" its very pretty gold silver band
its hard to take a picture of a ring on your finger while trying to hold the camera and I just gave up and put it back in the box and "snap" i took the picture still a little fuzzy but you can at least see the ring its Garnet stone "my moms" birthstone I will wear this much more than the necklace with the feather with my birthstone that came from her mothers ring... that is kept to wear on special occasions "holidays" cause knowing me i am going to break the clip and i don't wear much jewelry any way but this is something i needed to do for me plain and simple i miss her i miss moments and not even realizing it the ring matches my truck now how cool is that...i think so... yes i am cool i match things and I don't even realize it hey just thought of it my curtains in the living room same color i think i got a theme going on am i changing my favorite color nooo i'm just adding to my favorite color oh well i love my ring and how it comforts me on sad moments... well till the next entry

Alice- had gall bladder surgery Friday and she is recovering at my house sleeping on the pullout bed. I won't tell her I posted this on the blog till she feels much better and when she is back at her own apartment so she can't do nothing about it...

side note- I took her to get some meds at the CVS pharmacy today 3/17 and she suggested that we stop and have some Chinese food so I agreed it would be a great treat so she gave me her card to go pay and when I was about to go to the register to go pay she was standing there waiting for me - I asked her why she came in and she said that she had to sign the slip to pay for the food and I asked her did you lock the truck she said yes I said do you have the keys she said no I was hoping that I had them and I said why would I take them if I left YOU in the truck... and so she thought I was kidding and I showed her where I had placed the keys on the top dash of the truck and she said sorry and I just hung me head I had to call someone to go to my house and pick up my spare key- I was so glad that Ryan was home he's such a good sole... he went and took the kids to my house and I had to direct him on the discovery of where I had placed my spare key in my computer room in a metal box and he was able to find the key... then he said Jared had to use the bathroom so they were going to be delayed and needless to say if it happened on the 18th Ryan would of been in school or volleyball.... but YES IT WAS ST PATRICK'S DAY and I had the luck of the Irish with me... so I gave Ryan a big hug and said my many thanks and told him I owed him one...Alice is wondering why I did not get mad at her well you had to be there and it was funny and it could of only happened to me so the lesson learned today is not leave the truck keys with Alice while she is in the truck unless you carry a spare hahhahhaa it was funny if you think about it...

It has been 27 years since the Bride and Groom have been seen together in one place, wait yes there was was a wedding to one of their daughters Courtney let me see if I can locate that picture of them it might be a video snipit of them dancing at Courtney and Andrew wedding reception. I took this clip at the reception while they were dancing and I do believe that I asked him (Kim) to give her a KISS (Laura) and I believed it happened it may be only on the cheek but it was a kiss nevertheless so enjoy the video clip. Yes I know that my sister would not like this published but we have to preserve history and this is what it was, history 27 years into the making of this couple. Time did them well.

Well here you go we now can say we have offically have snow in Maine and its a little cold and windy. We got about 18inches of fresh powder snow. It was no fun using the snow blower when the wind kicked back and blew it back into your face not fun at all, but much better than hand shoveling way better than that. I took Mandi out and she got lost quick she had to keep jumping to see where she was going so I shoveled a little place for her to walk and have fun in the snow. Merry Christmas to all.

well its still cold here in Maine, there is still some ice on the trees and I was wondering if the ice is ready for some ice skating because this little spot makes a nice little patch to do some skating. So who wants to join me all you need is; mittens, scarf, hat, coat, and some ice skates...oh and when you go back into the house some nice hot chocolate...who's game... mandi is going how about you?

Snow 2008

Well it finally came the first snow of the year Nov 30th Jared's birthday what a treat that is. In this picture I got Mandi checking it out and I wonder what she is thinking. The snow flakes have arrived we only got one inch but we GOT SNOW in MAINE... its enough to make a snowball and not really enough for a snowman yet. I hope it stays long enough for me to take a few pictures in the morning for to see the snow on the trees now that is pretty. Maybe not much but it can look quite nice. I wish joy to everyone this winter this year, may your snow be plentiful and that you all get to make snowmen. I think Mandi and I will check out the snow more in the morning.

came Alice and Myself Dani called and so did Laura to wish us all a happy Thanksgiving....great feast was had by all no empty stomach

Well this is being posted on Saturday-cause Thursday was Turkey-day and here you see Ryan holding the big Turkey at 29lbs. YUM! YUM! Here you have Jeff holding Jared, showing him which Turkey-leg was his. Here Alice gets one of her many calls from well wishers on a Happy Thanksgiving day. Were you one of them? Barb left a note on the table cloth a note for all to see.

Nov 25th the day it Snowed a very little

Well if you were to take a look outside you would see little flakes of snow that is slowly disappearing because its raining here in Maine. I would take the first picture of the new snow if it had stayed for a little while. I got puddles but I don't think you want to see them. I want to see the white fluffy flakes of SNOW... the wind blowing with the touch of coldness that can numb your face. Here is a picture from last years SNOW....flakes....

Look who is ready to go to Oklahoma!

Barb posed for a few pictures for me before she left for the post office to mail out 7 boxes to be mailed to Oklahoma. She got a smile on her face and is a little cold she can't wait to get to warmer weather. She had no idea that I was recording her in the video snipit I had to help her in her dialog, she can be funny. We went into the post office and she could not believe how each one weighed in about 10-29 lbs yes they were heavy.

I made her climb into the truck to take a picture of her and the place where the box was going to and I said smile.. and she did with great ease. She was happy that this was on her to do list and it was all done.

Well it happens every 4 years it now time to elect a new President of the United States. Well it looks like its time to go to the voting poles and make my mark on the ballot. I wish the new President elect good luck. They are saying it will/should be a 85% turn out of voters today. Well I am off to vote- Later.
